Solopreneurship allows a futurist to fund their own hypotheses
A practicing futurist faces an economic problem: not every company is willing to pay for exploring a direction that lacks a proven ROI and a guaranteed result.
Solopreneurship helps partially resolve this conflict.
The futurist becomes the client for their own hypotheses:
hypothesis β own experiment β experience β new competence β economic result β next experiment.
If the idea works, it can yield a product, service, new market, or other asset. If it doesn't work, experience remains, which improves subsequent decisions.
Thus, future research and economic activity begin to reinforce each other.
This does not mean that solopreneurship is the only way for a futurist to work. But it is especially well-suited to a model where a person needs freedom of action and the right to test ideas without prior organizational approval.
More details on the profession itself and its practical model are being developed at futurist.expert. The author's biographical and project context is available at fi1osof.ru.
This Concept is one of the central connections to the root idea "The Solopreneur of the Future is a Practicing Futurist".
