Sales are a designed system, not an innate talent
Many technical specialists perceive sales as a set of social qualities: charisma, persistence, the ability to "close." This hinders the solopreneur who does not consider themselves a salesperson.
It is more practical to view a sale as a system:
incoming person β point of sale β salesperson β action β economic result.
Each element has measurable properties: flow cost, base website conversion, complexity of choice, cost of error, average check, margin, repeat purchases, and the cost of the salesperson's work.
Then the task ceases to sound like "learn to be a salesperson." It turns into a set of engineering questions: exactly where is the buyer being lost, do they need a salesperson, what type of salesperson is needed, and does their presence pay off.
